This was a cold one!
Sydney Cubit is an amazing new talent emerging from central Kentucky. We got together to shoot a music video for her single, “Pick Up The Pieces”, the track and title of her debut album.

I shot this piece on the Panasonic GH2 with Driftwood’s Moon setting. This will be my go to patch for everything I do, at least until Nick blows my mind again with another incredible batch of modifications.

The 12mm SLR magic is a brand new lens of mine. I had to step up quite a bit to get one of my old filters on there. (Didn’t prepare for that :/ ) I wanted to stay around f1.6 – f2.0 the entire shoot, so I had to use the filter to cut down on the glaring white overcast we had above us. I did get some light vignetting using the step-up-rings for the ND filter, but it’s minor considering the cinemascope 2:35:1 aspect ratio, which is native in the vimeo version below.

Sabrina also headed up the creative department on this video. She has a uncanny ability to find the perfect props and wardrobe needed for the project. I suggest all my clients opt for her services if we shoot a video.
A big thanks to my Mom & Pop for letting us run around their farm and shoot around their hometown of Maysville and Augusta, Kentucky. Love y’all!
