“My Old Kentucky Home”, preformed by Sundy Best and directed by Coleman Saunders
Share it around and let’s get this video some recognition . Filmed in Lexington and Pikeville
Kentucky.
Below are some frame grabs and some behind the scenes photos, taken by the lovely Sabrina Hounshell and her iPhone. She’s a professional photographer, but just as keen a photog with her phone.
Yesterday, "Home" by Sundy Best made it's debut on the CMT Pure 12 Pack and CMT.com. This is the proudest moment of my career, thus far. I'm honored to be a part of this incredible journey that Nick and Kris have embarked on.
When I work with Nick and Kris, I always attempt to convey their lives - as is. Their background and dynamic personalty set them apart and sound like the work of of a well written author, but it's not.. It's all real and legit. That being said, this video IS their home and these people are THEIR people. All I did was turn the camera on :)
A little over a year ago, I never knew the imagery pouring through my lens would be seen by so many. I’m beyond grateful to everyone who supported Sundy Best and the videos we make here at the studio. High five to you all!
FYI (Video has some light cussing)
The “shots from the hip” series is an impromptu collection of shorts featuring local Kentucky artist, musicians and individuals. Shot with a minimalist approach, these shorts are quite raw and do not represent the full capacity of the studio, hence, “shot from the hip”.
I venture out in the local music scene periodically and enjoy doing a little shooting while there. Since it’s basically just for fun and pretty unpredictable, I don’t bring any rigs or accessories – just two lenses and the camera.
Jordan (Bad People) called me up and insisted I come out to this party at some Evil Dead Cabin in the woods. After some coaxing I obliged and set out to see what this “cabin” was all about. I grabbed the GH2, the 12mm SLR MAgic and a 50MM Zeiss.
Once I got out there I started rolling and this is some of what I caught.
Sorry I could’t feature all the bands there! I’ll get y’all next time!
